Our Company
As one of the
country's largest flour milling companies, Pilmico Foods Corporation
has been providing Filipinos with world-class wheat flour and
related products since 1962.
Making up its top-of-the-line flour brands are Sun Moon Star,
Sunshine, Glowing Sun, Kutitap, Megastar, Gold Star and Wooden
Spoon. Its line of high-grade feed ingredients includes Hard Swine
Base Feeds, Soft Swine Base Feeds, Wheat Germ, and Pollard.
In 1995,
Pilmico entered into a joint venture with the world’s premier
yeast producer, Burns Philp Limited Mauri Fermentation of Australia,
to form Pilmico-Mauri Foods Corporation selling world-class yeast
and bakery ingredients under the Diamond, Mauripan and Baked Right
brands. Later in 2004, Burns Philp sold its yeast division to ABF
Overseas, a subsidiary of UK-based Associate British Food plc (ABF).
In November 2006, Pilmico sold its stake in Pilmico-Maurifoods to
ABF Overseas Limited. The divestment of the yeast business was in
line with Pilmico's continuing efforts to concentrate on its growing
flour milling business.
Pilmico puts a premium on efficiency. It has invested heavily in
state-of-the-art computerized milling equipment and controls giving
its operators better control of the milling process from wheat
receiving up to flour packing and palletizing. With a tradition of
continual improvement both in operations and product development,
Pilmico continues to work in providing its customers with excellent
products, reliable service and technical expertise.
Meanwhile, the Pilmico milling plant has undergone three expansions
in the past 17 years. An additional mill was installed in 1989
and the most recent was installed in 1997. With the rehabilitation
of the original mill in 2000 and an expansion in 2005, it is
considered to be the most modern flour mill in the Philippines
today. The plant boasts of a total milling capacity of 1,300 MT/day.
Furthermore, in April 1997, Pilmico took on a joint venture with
Purina Mills, Inc. and Tyson Foods, Inc. in feed and swine
production under a company called Fil-Am Foods, Inc. Commercially
known as PMI Nutrition, the Fil-Am Foods feed milling plant
lies on a 22 hectare lot in Capas, Tarlac. It was inaugurated in
August 1998, with 5,000 live hogs flown in from the United States
within the next few months. January 1999 saw the start of commercial
operation of the feed mill, and in July the commercial operation of
the swine division followed. Pilmico eventually bought out its
partners in late 2002, taking full control of Fil-Am Foods.
Presently, Pilmico Foods Corporation holds its main office in Cebu
City while a satellite office is maintained at Makati City.
Our highly trained sales personnel are strategically assigned in
various localities to promptly address customer concerns and
facilitate orders.
