Commitment
Through the years, we have been known not only as
producers of high quality bakery ingredients for the Filipino
consumers but we have also been active in promoting consumption of
nutritious baked goods that will nourish both the mind and body. As
part of this campaign, we introduced “Mabuhay Tinapay” during the
Iligan town fiesta last September 28 at Pryce Place.
The
campaign hopes to address the growing malnutrition in the country
and the health benefits of consuming breads made from fortified
ingredients. Bread in away is inexpensive, low in fat and healthy.
It has a valuable source of protein, carbohydrates, dietary fiber as
well as many vitamins and minerals.
The health benefits and nutrition generated from eating bread made
from fortified products were discussed by Pilmico's Marketing
Manager, Ms. Sheila Cuyos to the audience. To reinforce her talk,
the handsome guys from Mindanao Sales gave out 200 packs of bread
containing cheese bread, pandesal, pan de coco and ensaymada to
those who visited at booth.
To
make the event even more festive, we had 2 game shows which were
“Dough or No Dough” and “Spin a Snack”. The “Dough or No Dough” l
participants were predetermined from those who texted us prior to
the activity while the participants for the “Spin a Snack” were hand
picked from the audience where the host Ms. Farah Curaza prioritized
kids to join the activity to promote healthy eating at an early age.
The event was a success! We were able to impart our knowledge on the
benefits of eating bread made from fortified ingredients, fed bread
to 200 people, gave out 50 prizes and made a lot of people laugh and
smile. I'd say it was a “Happy Fiesta” for all.
