The
Islamic Da’wah Council of the Philippines (IDCP), the official
Islamic body that grants Halal certification to all Philippine-made
products, recently paid a visit to Pilmico Food Corporation’s Iligan
plant for the recertification of the Aboitiz flour milling unit’s
products.
The team of IDCP auditors headed by Dr. Ansari Castillo inspected
Pilmico’s operations from quality assurance, mill, warehouse and
purchasing. When the audit came to a close, Pilmico was declared as
a company that has successfully met the requirements on what it
takes to be HALAL Certified. All Pilmico flour sold under the
following brands have are declared Halal: Wooden Spoon, Sun Moon
Star, Sunshine, Glowing Sun, Kutitap, Gold Star and Megastar.
Halal is an Arabic work which means lawful or allowed. Halal foods
are foods that are permitted for consumption and production by
Muslims under the Islamic Law and do not consist of anything that is
deemed unlawful under the Law.
Pilmico proved once again its commitment to consistently meet and
exceed the demand for safe and high quality products among Filipino
consumers --- Muslim and non-Muslim alike.
Pilmico Foods Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aboitiz
Equity Ventures Inc., has been providing Filipinos with high quality
flour for over 40 years now.
