ILIGAN - based Aboitiz companies Pilmico Foods Corp. and Pilmico
Mauri-foods Corp. joined the ranks of world-class organizations as
they are now ISO 9001:2000 and Hazard Analysis Critical Control
Point-certified.
HACCP is a system that identifies, evaluates and controls hazards
that are significant to food safety.
This safety tool examines every step in food operations, identifying
specific hazards, as well as implementing effective control measures
and verification procedures.
At the recent awarding ceremony held at the Pilmico plant in Iligan,
both ISO and HACCP certificates were formally received by Michael
Tan, Pilmico senior vice president for sales, marketing and
operations from Jocelyn Babaan, SGS systems and services
certification and laboratory services manager.
Reano Gumalo, Pilmico vice president for operations, was also
present at the awarding.
Pilmico Foods is one of the country’s premier flour millers,
manufacturing wheat flour.
Pilmico Maurifoods is a partnership with AB Mauri, which is part of
Associated British Foods plc.
It sells yeast and bakery ingredients.
