The PilmiPilmico Foods Corporation, an Aboitiz company and one of the country's premier flour millers, was recently lauded by LandBank Philippines during the CLF/ALF Awarding Ceremony held last August 4, 2003 at the Diosdado Macapagal Hall, Landbank Plaza in Malate, Manila.

Pilmico Foods Corporation was awarded the Special Citation to a Sub-borrower under the Countryside Loan Fund (CLF) and Agricultural Loan Fund (ALF) Progams for its invaluable contribution in fostering countryside development. This Iligan-based company has provided employment for the people in this city and has made substantial contributions to the development of the local economy since it began milling operations in 1962. Through the years, Pilmico has shown its social commitment through numerous community projects like tree-planting activities, scholarship programs and donations of various facilities like schoolbuildings, houses and the Donald Moraza Park. This year, Pilmico extended their philanthropic endeavors beyond the city of Iligan and donated a two-room school building in Tacloban City last April.

The special citation also recognized Pilmico's contribution in promoting the Food and Agro Processing Sector, one of the priority sectors of Landbank.

Landbank President and CEO Gary Teves, conferred the special award to Pilmico Foods Corporation, represented by Mr. Luis Miguel Aboitiz, one of the directors of the flour milling company.
