Building brighter futures with a new day care center in Iligan

Aboitiz Foods continues to strengthen its commitment to creating shared value through initiatives that drive community progress.

One such initiative is Project Educare – the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program that supports access to quality education in underserved communities and equips young people with knowledge and opportunities by investing in learning infrastructure, tools, and resources.

In Iligan City, Philippines, Aboitiz Foods, through its subsidiary Pilmico Foods Corporation (Pilmico), partnered with Aboitiz Foundation and the local barangay of Dalipuga to turn over the community’s first fully furnished day care center on April 22, 2026.

Tools for brighter futures. The interior of the new Dalipuga daycare center is equipped with modern learning tools and educational toys designed to stimulate cognitive and social development crucial in a child’s formative years.

The new concrete facility is a major upgrade, replacing their cramped, poorly ventilated plywood classroom. Now with a brighter, modern space equipped with toys and learning tools, the facility will help nurture the social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development of children up to age five—helping build strong foundations during their formative years.

“For us at Aboitiz Foods, ‘nourishing the future’ is about making a meaningful impact for generations to come,” said Engr. Alexis Revantad, Vice President for Iligan Site Management and Flour Operations, added, “Investing in this center means investing in our future leaders, thinkers, and changemakers.”

The construction of the daycare center directly supports Republic Act No. 12199, also known as the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) System Act, which promotes a child’s long-term learning and well-being. It also  contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, recognizing the critical role of early childhood education in shaping future-ready communities. This year, around 50 children in Barangay Dalipuga will be able to use the newly constructed center.

Barangay Chairwoman Nilda Hamoy described the center as “a symbol of hope and opportunity for every child who will use it.” She remarked, “This will remain a reminder of our role in improving education and in giving a brighter future for the next generation.”

Through Project EduCare, Aboitiz Foods continues to champion accessible and inclusive education, empowering communities and helping build a stronger foundation to nourish the future.
