Pilmico statement on AI outbreak in San Luis, Pampanga

Last August 11 the Department of Agriculture reported the incidence of Avian Influenza (AI) in chickens, quail and ducks in San Luis, Pampanga.

Pilmico’s facilities are not within the areas where AI was detected and our poultry farms have not been affected by the disease.

Stringent biosecurity protocols are in place to prevent the entry of diseases into our farms. Appropriate flock health programs and climate control systems are employed to keep the flock healthy. All these measures are undertaken to protect our flock and our people, and to maintain the quality and safety of our products.

We strongly support the AI control measures being implemented by the Department of Agriculture and the Bureau of Animal Industry to prevent the spread of the disease.
