Now on it’s fourth year, the Kutitap Feeding Program aims to run for another school year serving over 4100 school children and 16 small bakeries who are 100% Pilmico Flour customers.

The goal of this program is twofold. First, it aims to address malnutrition among learners (Kindergarten to Grade 2 students) and increase school participation. Second, Kutitap targets to help our Pilmico bakery partners grow their business by giving them additional sales volume.

Ever since the program’s launch in 2013, the results have truly been encouraging. Overall, we have already improved the well-being of over 7000 school children – reduction in malnutrition, high attendance) and assisted 9 partner bakeries in Iligan.

We’ve also played a big role in our partners schools’ School Based Management (SBM) accreditation, wherein their efforts for good governance and good monitoring of children’s improvement are recognized. This DepEd program aims to strengthen the support systems of DepED, Regional Offices, Divisions and schools for School Based Management through improved educational planning and management. This nation-wide validation defines a school’s performance which will result to their Good, Better, Best accreditation.

Our Kutitap schools, all got a “Better” rating; meaning, they have competent leaders to make decisions, has a wider pool of ideas in designing education programs, resourceful in achieving their goals and need of the school and boosts moral and encourages leadership at all levels.

Elsa Gabisay Abdul, a teacher from Mandulog Elementary School, has this to say about the Kutitap program:

“On behalf of our principal and the Mandulog teaching force of Mandulog Elementary School, thank you so much po sa patuloy na pag-sponsor sa snacks ng aming nga estudyante. Isa po ako sa teachers sa school; lalo pong ganado ang mga bata namin mag-aral dahil sa araw-araw na binibigay niyong tinapay. Kahit wala silang baon okay lang po sa kanila ngayon. Maraming salamat po talaga! Dahil po sa inyong feeding program, nag-increase ang attendance ng mga bata. Thank you so much and more power!”
