Aboitiz Foods brings aid to families affected by Habagat flooding

Standing Together. Aboitiz Foods, through Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporation, and its partners from the local government and the Philippine Army come together in Mexico, Pampanga, as part of relief efforts for families affected by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

CAPAS, TARLAC — In the aftermath of widespread flooding brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), Aboitiz Foods, through its subsidiary Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporation (Pilmico), mobilized relief assistance for 2,220 families across 17 communities in Tarlac, Pampanga, and Pangasinan.

Working with the Aboitiz Foundation, the Philippine Army, local government units (LGUs), and community partners, Aboitiz Foods’ CSR and Sales teams mounted a rapid response to help affected communities access essential food, water, and hygiene supplies following the flooding.

The relief operations, conducted from September 3 to 11, covered communities in Tarlac City, Paniqui, and Bamban, Tarlac; Mexico, Pampanga; and Bayambang, Pangasinan, with support from Pilmico’s agricenters. 

Relief packs included rice, eggs, other food and grocery items, hygiene kits, and bottled water, with the Philippine Army providing logistical support and transport for ground distribution in several communities.

“When communities face difficult circumstances, coming together allows us to respond where support is needed most,” said Joeben Gamatero II, Aboitiz Foods Vice President for Agribusiness Marketing and Brand & Reputation Management. “Through the collective efforts of our people and partners, we hope this assistance can help families meet their immediate needs and take steps toward recovery.”

Aboitiz Foods’ disaster relief efforts will continue with a planned next phase in San Marcelino, Zambales, where Pilmico is coordinating with the LGU to provide assistance to 500 families in remote and far-flung communities.
