Pilmico supports students through Brigada Eskwela and Balik Eskwela programs

Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporation (Pilmico), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team, participated in various initiatives to give back to the community and support the education sector. They joined in repairing classrooms for “Brigada Eskwela” in Capas, Tarlac, and donating school supplies to students in Batangas and Davao.

Brigada Eskwela 2023

Pilmico team members repaired classrooms of Cristo Rey West Elementary School in Capas, Tarlac.

Cristo Rey West Elementary School is one of the largest schools in Capas, Tarlac, with 1,040 students. With the number of students they cater to, their primary challenge is the lack of classrooms and dilapidated buildings that cause discomfort to the students during summer and rainy seasons.

Pilmico participated in this year’s Brigada Eskwela to prepare for School Year 2023-2024 to help ensure that it is conducive to learning. They donated construction and cleaning materials, paints, and custom-made bags for the students. Meanwhile, Pilmico’s Safety and Engineering department inspected the site and made the necessary repairs.

Lyrma Gabatino, Cristo Rey West Elementary School Principal, expressed her gratitude to the company for supporting Brigada Eskwela. “Sa Pilmico, thank you dahil kami and inyong napili sa maraming (paaralan) na nag-request for repair.

The Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela National Kick-off Program was held at Tarlac National High School. Present at the event were Vice President and the Department of Education Secretary Sara Duterte, together with representatives from Pilmico, Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., and AboitizLand.

Balik Eskwela Program

Aquamax Pro’s “Balik Eskwela” program distributes school essentials to students who are children of the farm employees of their customers.

Pilmico’s aqua feeds brand, “Aquamax Pro,” held its 2nd “Balik Eskwela” program in Davao and Batangas to provide school supplies for returning students.

This year, a total of 450 beneficiaries, all children of the farm employees of Aquamax’s customers, were given “Balik Eskwela” kits. These kits included a backpack with essentials such as notebooks, pens, and pad paper. Among these, 250 kits were distributed to the Davao region, reaching the municipalities of Mabini, Pantukan, and Malalag, as well as the cities of Panabo, Digos, and Davao. The remaining 200 kits were given out in Taal, Batangas.

Christopher Tan from the Tan Group of Companies expressed his appreciation to Pilmico for their “Balik Eskwela” program, “The school supplies got the children excited for the upcoming school year. This initiative helps our employees, especially our less fortunate employees and their children, to continue their studies.”

Aquamax Pro started its “Balik Eskwela” program in 2022, where 205 students in Bolinao, Pangasinan, received kits.
