Salto raises funds for Youth Development in Iloilo
20 March 2015 ILOILO CITY, ILOILO — Animal feeds producer Pilmico will gather cockfighting aficionados all over the country at the Iloilo Coliseum in Jaro on Saturday, March 21 to raise funds to support youth development in the province.
The Salto Breeders’ Benefit Sabong will be staged at the annual Candelaria Derby – a grand cockfighting event known worldwide for being the toughest competition in the gamefowl industry. Salto is the gamefowl feed brand of Pilmico.
Seventy percent of the derby proceeds will fund the improvement of a recreation and sports facility in Jaro National High School where young people who are into sports can develop healthy lifestyle and improve their self-esteem and social skills.
“Through this activity, we aim to promote and soon roll-out advocacies that are geared towards youth development,” said Pilmico Feeds Vice President for Sales and Sales Support Hendel Cabral.
While promoting camaraderie within the game fowl community, this activity is also opening opportunities for game fowl breeders. Winning a Candelaria title is one of the most coveted distinctions in the industry worldwide. Meanwhile, Iloilo Coliseum has been tagged as one of the country’s premier cockfighting destinations.
Salto is a quality product of Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporations, a subsidiary of Aboitiz Equity Ventures. Besides selling high-nutrition quality feeds, the company also provides counsel on the animal nutrition and management. Visit www.salto.com.ph for more info on products and services. #
